PRESTON​COMPS

The Key Steps Competition is a 3 piece event where Gymnasts compete on 3 pieces of apparatus.

 

This is a friendly competition where we ask for gymnasts competing in step 1 to have core training hours of 45min per week to 2 hours max. We ask that unless in exceptional circumstances gymnasts do not train more than 5.5 hours per week for the highest level as this comp is aimed at lower level gymnasts to work on set routines.

 

Girls and Boys can take part ages 4 years to 14 years.

All gymnasts will receive a medal, certificates and badge.

 

Key Step 1

 VAULT - performer may compete 2 vaults, best score to count. (bench)

FLOOR - performer completes a set floor routine, floor space is one strip of sprung floor 10m x 2m

BODY MANAGEMENT - performer completes a set routine on a short strip of spring floor 5m x 2m

 

Key Step 2 

 VAULT - performer may compete 2 vaults, best score to count. (3 section box)

FLOOR - performer completes a set floor routine, floor space is one strip of sprung floor 10m x 2m

BODY MANAGEMENT - performer completes a set routine on a short strip of spring floor 5m x 2m

 

Key Step 3

VAULT - performer may compete 2 vaults, best score to count. (4 section box)

FLOOR - performer completes a floor routine using skills from the floor routine selection boxes, floor space is 2 strips of sprung floor 10m x 4m.

Girls may include dance in the sequence of skills however there are no extra points for this, boys a sequence of skills.
