The Spring Setworks are set routines that gymnasts aim to perfect each piece.

The Setworks link nicely into grades and voluntary levels.

To download the set routines these are available in the competition programme.

Frequently asked questions:

Minimum age - minimum age for set A is preschool. Maximum age for all setworks is 17 years old.

Gymnasts may be prompted within their routines if they forget them, however, they will incur a penalty. Penalty for a single prompt is -0.5 - continuous prompts throughout the routine = -1.5 (preschool may be prompted throughout)

Girls need to wear a leotard, long or short sleeved. Boys a leotard and shorts or shorts and tshirts. Long hair tied back

No unauthorised people on the competition floor (especially non-coaching parents!)

There will be a photographer at the event for professional photos. On the day those wishing to be photographed will ask for a photo wristband - those that do not wish to be photographed will ask for a non-photo wristband.

There will be a café and sweet stall at the event plus a few discount leotards on sale.

The competition is a fun event, all children receive a gift, participation medal and certificates of achievement

If a gymnast scores a distinction on an apparatus they will also receive a special award certificate.

Gymnasts will be grouped into levels and then age groups per level depending on the year they were born. There are also awards for 1st to 3rd overall.

The age category refers to the age they will turn in 2020, a gymnast at 2013 will, therefore, be classed as 7 even if he/she is not 7 until December as they will turn 7 this year.

We do work on honesty from clubs, please check the guidelines for how many hours a gymnast should train maximum for some levels.

We are generous for skills getting counted and we also have low deductions so the aim is to have a fun competition where gymnasts strive to try new skills where possible in a relaxed competition.

There are also some fun bonuses on some apparatus too, this rewards gymnasts trying the more difficult skills or striving for good execution in stuck landing bonuses.

Please remember when trying skills to ensure they are always safe.
